So following up with MASSIVE ACTION I wrote our mentor today to get things kick started. Here's the letter I wrote our tentative mentor Donna:

Are you up for the coaching challenge of your career?

It's Danny Guspie (and Heidi Nabert in spirit....) from the Toronto Bootcamp this weekend writing to you from Waterford, Ontario. It was really great meeting you Friday night, and talking with you over the course of the weekend.

Please share our enthusiastic and heartfelt thanks with Derek and the entire IMC team for such a well organized, info-packed, fun weekend. Heidi and I can barely believe what a great time we had - and we've been to and have organized a few events of this size ourselves, so we know how much work goes into them.

Hopefully the VP of Finance (I have forgotten her name...my apologies) has figured out our total minus what we own and its already paid for by the time you open this. If not, please bug her to get it done so we can begin right away.

In the spirit of taking MASSIVE ACTION, here's the helpful background info and insights on us, since you'll be our mentor in the Protégé Profit System program...

BACKGROUND - The purchasing decision was Heidi's
****************************************************************************

It was Heidi's sole decision to take Derek up on the Protégé Profit System Package - that blew me away! That in itself made it an extremely worthwhile weekend - because Heidi is now ready to take action. Please share this with Derek - Thank you, thank you, thank you!

And I really mean that from the bottom of my heart.

I've been trying to get Heidi on board with starting an on-line business for years, since 1995 when I first began buying books on the subject. I tell you this - me spending this kind of money is a pure business decision, because I was convinced a long time ago that I would do whatever it took to get us making money on-line

Heidi whipping out that credit card without any sort of egging on from me tells me she is very, very, very serious and is finally ready to do this.

Hallelujah! Finally light at the end of the tunnel!

If I could of figured out a way to do this in 1995 when I first began reading about it, I would have done it - I could see it that clearly back then - I have a shelf full of books that I read on a trip to the West Coast that summer.

You should know - I would have whipped out my credit card for this program a long time ago, but I respect Heidi's feeling and judgment. She was not ready.

We've moved twice since 1999, opened an office, and her mother passed away
From cancer last year in may - We've been to Europe twice since once for her funeral where we spread her ashes on a mountaintop in Bludenz, Austria. So 2005 was a complete write off for doing this kind of a project.

We are still dealing with estate issues too, but we're almost done that.

Just last week we returned from the funeral of a father I helped win custody of his children and permission of Family Court to re-locate to Europe. He was 39 years old.

So, when you see my purchase record for IMC products you will wonder why its taken so long to get something going....the above is why.

But we have finally cleared the decks for 3 projects this year and IMC PROTÉGÉ is one of them, and is definitely the # 1 priority of the three projects.

It is our future life - We want with every fibre in our being to transition from off-line working in a business to on-line working on a business.

We just have to do so sensibly and persistently.

MY INITIAL FRUSTRATIONS WITH ON-LINE
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
****************************************************************************

However, it seemed it was way, way, way to early to adopt, and the obstacles to doing this in Canada seemed so impossible, there was no PayPal, we did not have merchant status, and getting it just was not in the cards - no matter how hard I tried. I even went to Buffalo New York's SBA office to see what I could do to get American merchant processing - no luck at all, but I could see if I was American, no problem...

It was very frustrating for me.

Then in 2001 we bought the IMC package - we even had merchant status by that time, just getting it in November 2001 for our offline business. We had also moved to Waterford which is 90 minutes from Toronto, were setting up our Toronto office to go to once a week, setting up our new offices in our 600 square foot Victorian 1875 home in Waterford etc etc etc.

So it was a busy time, not the best time to begin working on an on-line business, but we forged ahead in December 2001 - But automating the secure digital delivery of products was just way too baffling for us, HTML baffled Heidi, so we began using SITE BUILD IT through Ken Evoy - but digital delivery and credit card processing seemed completely out of our reach.

Heidi used to be an art director at the Globe and Mail, so I figured she would adapt to html really well since she already knows Quark Express & Photoshop.

Wrong...HTML scares her, and it baffles me (primarily because I am always so busy working in and on our current business. I know if she could just get past her fear of html, she'd learn DreamWeaver easily, just like Quark & Photoshop. She wants, and I've told her take any course necessary once we really get into this...I'm still waiting...

It was still very frustrating for me. But I have persisted because I believed one day I'd find all the right pieces to make it happen.

OUR OFF-LINE BUSSINESS EXPLODES WHEN WE GET
MERCHANT STATUS IN NOVEMBER 2001
****************************************************************************

Meanwhile, our offline business Fathers Resources International just exploded with merchant status, so we had little time, we could barely keep up we've been so very, very busy with one-on-one client work.

But I kept trying to understand how to build an on-line business: I was reading and purchasing one more product hoping it would give us the missing pieces of the puzzle so we could begin, but it was so overwhelming. It seemed like it would be easy if we lived in the US, but not here in Canada.

OUR MAJOR PROBLEMS remained the same: Building a web site, integrating yours and our products into that web site, digital delivery, and getting on-line credit card acceptance, tracking all of that, growing the business.

So it got put on the back burner...I kept educating myself, we finally got up a brochure site mid 2003 using a tech guy who lives down the street who runs:

RE-DESIGNING FATHERS- RESOURCES.COM

It's got a lot of great content on it for download. I can see after the weekend a lot of ways to improve upon it, using squeeze pages to get at the free resources section of the site, but we'll need technical help putting in the double opt-in, thank-you and re-direct pages to tweak our site's sales process. In fact maybe that portion needs to be a membership site with 3-4 levels of membership tied into our back-end products.

The copy needs a lot of fixing, but I'm confident I can do that without to much trouble, I've always been afraid if I make the site look like a sales letter it would be a bad thing given our line of work. However seeing the makeover with the granite web site at:

http://www.precisongranite.ca

Funny, Brantford is only 20 minutes away from Waterford, and that's where this business is.

I can see what needs to be done to our site at fathers-resources.com - I can also see we need to re-name our site because our company name doesn't matter

So we were thinking maybe Divorced-Dads.com, but someone has it and wants $800.00 for it...but we're getting ahead of ourselves without a keyword search aren't we?

Besides if we make this change we'd need to do some re-direction of our current URL as fathers-resources.com is in 41 YELLOW PAGES books in Southern Ontario currently.

But the $800.00 is no problem if the research says that's the way to go.

You tell us- what do you think we should do here?

Look at our business card - it says Divorced Dad in big bold letters and is the same design for our YELLOW PAGES advertising which I will get Heidi to send to you.

We really understand the multiple streams of income, and I can see info several products

- How to hire and fire a lawyer,

- How to represent yourself in Family Court,

- How to Win Child Custody

- How to lower child support when you lose your job or are laid off and can't afford a lawyer;

- How to fill out Court forms

, How to get your driver's licence back when you lose it for not paying child support,

- How to have your access time with your kids enforced by the Court

- How to develop a parenting plan

- How to convince your ex to co-operate with you

- How to avoid Family Court

- How to afford Family Court (become an IMC affiliate of course ;-)

Now dominating divorce and the father market seems contrary to what we learned.

However we own

Father.org

I picked those domain names up in 1997...

But I think that's a project down the road once we learn the basis. However after seeing Scott's Presentation on Saturday and thinking that we have a bout a year before getting real estate on the desktop will become increasingly difficult, maybe thinking about that now isn't so bad an idea as we move forward towards it.

After all shouldn't we begin with the end in mind???

That's why we have picked you, and its why I said that I see our relationship with you and Team IMC as an on-going one, where we will want to have continual coaching beyond the six months.

We see our work with you and IMC as an on-going process of mentoring us to change the face of divorce through raising money on-line to have time to work on our business, but also to help us fund our political goals to make change the divorce laws of the western world into something fully focused on the best interests of children.

For example, something I wrote for new clients will help you to appreciate where we are coming from....

THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CHILD IS..... ****************************************************************************
For these parents - we need an ultimate standard of care,
defining the best interest of children.

Given my experiences and those of most adult children of
divorce, I believe the following is that definition:

The best interest of children, is best defined by children
themselves.

Most adults have got it all wrong, because at least 50% of the
adults have yet to go through what any child of divorce knows
only too well: "Stop fighting now. If you love me, really love
me, you'll make peace for me right now...."

If you watch how these kids act when their parents announce an
impending separation and divorce, you will quickly understand that:

"The # 1 wish of children is for their parents to get back together"

THAT IS THE ULTIMATE BEST INTEREST OF KIDS:
AN INTACT, LOVING FAMILY

If we as parents cannot give them their # 1 wish upon separation
and divorce, it is our duty and obligation to give them the next
best thing:

A FAMILY THAT IS AT PEACE WHEN IT SEPARATES,
FOR THE SAKE OF THE CHILDREN....

All children want and need a continuing sense of family: Two parents
who set aside their Adult relationship difficulties and focus solely on their parental responsibilities, obligations and duty to make and actively "Wage Peace" with each other on behalf of their children's needs for
both parents.

WAGE PEACE - NOT WAR IN FAMILY COURT

That is the ultimate best interest of children in separation and
divorce, when one parent insists on making the separation and
Divorce all about their selfishness.

FATHERLESSNESS LEADS YOUR CHILDREN
TO GANG VIOLENCE....

In Toronto, we are seeing an unprecedented rise in gang violence.
Everyday some innocent person gets shot and/or killed by being in
The wrong place at the wrong time...gang warfare on our streets.

We've even had these sorts of shootings in the most public of
streets in Canada - Yonge Street in Toronto, the major street
In its downtown core where thousands of shoppers stroll daily.

Without exception, the young men involved in these shootings,
who have been arrested came from homes with no father...

These children grew up with no positive male role model who
developed their code of conduct. Instead their male role models
Come from "gangster culture", because it is a way to feel powerful
In life where these male children grow up powerless.

That's because they are never empowered by a man who truly
loves, cares and would even die for them. Starved of this love,
These kids seek out such male acceptance anywhere they can
find it...

In the case of daughters, these girls often become overtly
promiscuous, looking to find a man who will make them feel
like a woman. Such young girls also get caught up in gang
culture, passed around for the sexual gratification of the males
In the gang.

Daughters with strong bonds with a loving and caring father
rarely end up in such tragic circumstances.

Waging Peace" is the way to preclude such a bleak future for your
children.

OUR VISION: "World Peace begins at home"

We believe that "Waging Peace" is must be the accountable and
presumed standard upon separation and divorce. And it is our life's
work to make that a reality worldwide.

Any parent, professional, judge or legislator operating under any
other value is engaging in child abuse - its really that simple:

Ask any child if they want their parents to stop fighting over them...

In the separation and divorce processes, the legal, social work
and Court professionals/Judges eventually go away, often leaving
nothing behind but unresolved family problems, crippling legal bills, dysfunctional families and unhappy children in their wake.

THE COST OF WAGING WAR WITH OUR KIDS

If that is the outcome of the current level of involvement of these professionals, their sole focus must become how to insist and
support helping the family through education to realize the cost
of war in Family Court:

Your children are 25 times more likely to:

• Join a gang, which will become their "new family";

• Engage in promiscuous, criminal and anti-social
behaviours;

• Experiment and become addicted to alcohol, drugs,
crime and sex;

• Lose all moral certitude and enthusiasm to
succeed;

• Be institutionalized from overdoses, eating
disorders, self-mutilation and/or suicide;

• Drop out of school, end up in menial low
paying jobs or on welfare.

THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS
****************************************************************************
Anyone preying off and perpetuating such human
misery for advantage, gain and/or profit is engaging
In child abuse when the stakes are so high for these
at-risk children.

History teaches that what was once acceptable behaviour
Is often found to be lacking moral certitude and any legitimacy
Through the passage of time.

Again, imagine women being told they are not legally people
today. That's what the Supreme Court of Canada told them
exactly that in 1929...

We are telling our children the exact same thing today - That they
don't count, that selfishness adult desires come first; we brutalize
our children through:

• Intellectual dishonesty;

• Political correctness;

• The stifling of legitimate dissent, in contravention of the United
Nations Charter rights of children; and

• Our children's constitutional Rights to security of the person
in the form of their identity - which Is derived through one's family.

We do so with a shocking lack of morality, insight, and spirit for
protecting the weakest members of our society - the children,
while wonder why our youth are so violent today.

WE HAVE ALL FAILED OUR CHILDREN....
DON'T THEY DESERVE BETTER?

The above is one of the "FOUR LEGS OF THE TABLE" of our major life-long mission/goals - The other three have to do with content delivery ;-)

So let's re-cap:

I have bought lots of various programs struggling to overcome all the obstacles, and learn what I can. Really what we have needed is a mentor/coach. I know this because this is what I do for a living.

So I am so ready for this program and to give it 1000%

I would have been the one to make the purchase of the offer this weekend, not Heidi. But I absolutely believed she would say - No way! I cannot emphasize how big a step this was for Heidi - she finally sees it for herself, chunked down, instead of as an overwhelming huge task.

So she is very ready for this program and to give it 1000%

However we do have a lot of off-line responsibilities in our very successful business - we must generate a lot of $$$ every month to meet our overheads which are significant, we average 30-40K a month in business revenue/income.

We must maintain this - BUT, this years growth instead of it being revenue, will be our investment in this program with you and IMC to make the swiftest possible transition to these kinds of sales figures in the on-line world.

And we are very prepared to keep you and IMC on-board with us until we get there and far, far beyond.
