I have been so busy working on our web site....no time to post!

We've now had our first call with our mentor - Scott Paton! Lucky us!

That's right folks, the Dean of Blognomics and Podology is working with us - In two months, in anticpation of beginning the mentoring program, We've added a blog at divorced-dad-daily.com; I just uploaded our fourth podcast - DadCast a few minutes ago.

We add about 12-20 subscribers a day with the podcast. The climb continues up Alexa - Today we are 183,584.

Scott will be working with us on fathers-resources.com. Expect very big things the three of us! e are making a long term committment to IMC that is around 11K a year for sustained mentoring...We can hardly wait! Naturally, we're very excited to begin.

September 30, 2007 is our target date for making the same income on-line that we make offline in our thriving business.

Hi ho, hi ho - its off to work I go....
Got to make that dough ;-)

Still waiting to hear back from Mighty Team IMC - hopefully I hear back today, left an e-mail with them Thursday evening....Anyhow:

I've begun work on our first podcast, this weekend - It's going to be called - DadCast - Divorced Dads Rights Podcast

I scripted out a format, recorded the music bed tracks with my own music for a theme song Intro/extros (lead in's/outs to segments...) and then plotted that all into a recording template so I can just edit in the audio segments of which there will be six:

1. Intro - Show opening
2. General topic discussion
3. Adult Children of Divorce
4. Audio from the fathers Resources Weekly Meetings
5. Feature segment - Interviews
6. News
7. Editorial
8 Extro - Show close

We can also edit these segments into shorter topical pieces in order to recycle them. By June, with luck there will be enough content to start up a Live365.com radio station and do a weekly call in show as part of the schedule.

I'll let you all know when it's up on ITunes....

Also wrote about 35 pages of copy for a sales letter home page over the weekend for the redesign of our web site, worked out new copy for our "10 part course - Divorce 101" for subscription and a squeeze page map for what will happen when you hit our homepage. I also have another 40 pages waiting for editing possibly into about 120 shorter pages...haven't decided yet.

How Danny and Heidi began immediately applying what Scott Paton - the Author of "THE RSS Mystery Solved" taught us at Toronto Internet Marketing Centre Bootcamp a mere few weekends ago (eat your heart out Orlando!)

Being the extremist that I am (as Heidi will gladly attest to...), I decided since we were in the midst of converting our site at fathers-resources.com into the next upgrade of DotNukeNet so our URL's would all be machine readable and to begin major SEO and integration of Mailloop , I needed a project to test out Scott's theories upon with respect to his book "The RSS Mystery Solved..."...

So I baught a turnkey website from a project called: Dave's Cool Little Web Site which had turnkey sites just like dealspotter.net which you would be able to customize.

So I decided I would apply Scott's theories to this web site because being the lazy guy I am... (not really - just always way too busy with fathers-resources.com and I really want to test this RSS/Blogging automation thing out of Scott's...).

Well seeing as I'm not going on a crusie, but will be busy with other endeavour's this project will be on auto-pilot for a bit. If it works, a nice passive income will result. If not it's back to tweaking (with Scott's insights...)

I thought I'd look at Scott's Blog and I found Team IMC at it again - lucky Orlando!

Since Scott put together an Orlando Bootcamp Blog, I took it upon myself to say hello to the Orlando Bootcamp from those of us at the Toronto Bootcamp. here's what I wrote:

The Toronto the Bootcamp held two weeks ago was absolutely amazing - You'll learn so much and I strongly advise you to be sure to attend Scott's session where you will learn secrets that will explode your search engine rankings and on-line earnings.

My partner Heidi and I have joined the protégé mentoring program, and if you can do it, you won't regret it, Regardless, you will come away with a ton of practical knowledge this weekend - so go for it!

Make sure to go to Scott's session! It will be worth it!

We're working with our tech head, upgrading our website which was built on the DotNetNuke web building system. Our first step is upgrading the system so all of our URLS are machine readable, which currently they are not. This will be necessary in applying what Scott teaches, which is devastatingly effective.

We know it is because our RSS news section is responsible for tour Alexa number. We are ranked at 316,692 on Alexa. We have done zip, nada, zilch on our site for over a year. No Blogging, no podcasting no tweaking of any kind - just a news section with lots of RSS feeds.

You can see why I would get on the phone right away and tell our tech guy - hey we need the following, get it done - and God Bless him, he is almost ready so we can begin ripping our site apart - Improve our sales copy and process for sure, add squeeze pages Etc etc etc - We are hard at work on our implementation plan as we gear up for mentoring with Team IMC.

1. Housekeeping items

Our progress on the mentoring program continues

So far we have:

(a) Watched the Ultimate Seminar;

(b) The Bonus Jermaine Griggs Video's;

(c) Read the Read Me First for the 2005 Insiders Secrets;

(d) Quick Start Guide for the 2005 Insiders Secrets; and

(e) Begun reading Step One of 2005 Insiders Secrets.

However we had some housekeeping to do. You see we have a lot of the Internet Success Tool Box materials so we got a discount on the program, but…I had to re-organize things…

Such as:

• Get our customer ID and passcodes to be the same on all of our various IMC e-books

Many are not opening at all, some may be the code, some won't even open, some may be a firewall problem as we seem to have a problem with the IMC Desktop Marketer (not the program itself, but the one IMC puts on our desktop…)

We don't seem to have any messages but the first one...and we are connected to the internet just fine. We are using an HP Media Centre with over a gig in memory...so we may be in need of some technical support.

• Develop a filing system for where these things are stored on the Hard Drive to make sure we have everything that we are supposed to have with the course that is in the Internet Success Tool Box.

Filing is complicated by the fact that we are primarily MAC people in a WINDOWS world…we get our e-mail and do most things on the MAC, and have the WINDOWS PC for those things we need them for.

So, downloads go to the MAC and are transferred over to the PC.

More often than not it all works - once in a while something gets corrupted. Sometimes because of our network configuration we get strange things that happen…

All of this played into the events of today and where I ultimately arrived.

I have written support and hope to have answers and solutions soon with it all filed nicely for ease of reference.

2. Assignment of mentor

We requested Donna as a mentor. However my understanding is it may be a bit yet before mentoring begins - But no one has told us when that is yet.

That would be a place in customer service follow-up that can be improved upon. When you get your welcome package, a timeline would help, so you got a sense of how this will all unfold.

But I expect that will happen soon enough.

3. AssocTRAC contract

That has arrived - You get a year of free hosting before those charges kick in according to the brochure…

THEN THE LIGHT BULB WENT OFF…

Which leads back me to the whole reason for this entry - "The Fundamentals & Housekeeping: How these mundane tasks led to an set of unexpected and extraordinary insights…"

Scott's talk on Friday began to make new sense in a whole new and very unusual way after almost a day of filing stuff on the computer.

Isn't the filing the major complaint on the internet?

Isn't that why we infopreneur's make money?

Because no one can find anything useful that is free because of information overload?

Well then what is search engine optimization? What is at its core?

Alexa and Google are "a democratic filing system". Here is my over-simplified attempt to appreciate what Scott said on Saturday night.

That's what Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is all about - People enter a search term to solve a problem and the engine looks in its filing system and spits out the most likely places to look in the "filing cabinets" better known as the internet.

Search engine optimization takes what we'd find in Overture or Wordtracker or Site-Build It's keyword list builder and we then build content around that keyword, making sure the URL, title and content have good Keyword density in context.

The GoogleBot Spider checks all those area's along with relevant incoming links and begins assigning weights to pages relative to other pages and spits out results.

Our web site at fathers-resources.com however has none of that. But it does have RSS and one link with BlogsCanada.ca, which is ranked at 136,868 on Alexa. The webmaster for BlogsCanada is our tech guy, and a heck of a nice guy Jim Elve who lives down the street from us in Waterford, Ontario.

Without any SEO whatsoever on fathers-resources.com we are ranked at 316,692 on Alexa. No Blogging, no podcasting no tweaking of any kind - just a news section with lots of RSS feeds.

So it has to be the RSS feeds folks - because we have done zip/nada other than add content to the site that is not optimized, keyword dense etc etc etc.

Now here's the best part - we are in the business of fathers' rights. But we don't use that term to often, as its not politically correct, and really we are more about kids' rights to having a relationship with DAD after separation and divorce.

So I checked out the competition - the # 1 site for fathers' rights is ranked at 673,821 on Google.

So imagine what is going to happen when we do some SEO and apply what Scott taught us last Saturday night…

IS YOUR LIGHT BULB GOING OFF YET?

I just about needed a several pairs of extra absorbent diapers for seniors when the implications were absorbed. No wonder it took 10 minutes, if you followed exactly how Scott got his results by hooking up SEO with his other strategies.

So I looked at Divorce -

The # 1 sponsored link is at 1,608,307 on Alexa;
the # 2 sponsored link is at 467,550 on Alexa;

The # 1 unsponsored link is at 22,839 on Alexa
The # 2 unsponsored link is at 136,605 on Alexa
The # 3 unsponsored link is at 462,382 on Alexa

Fathers-resources.com no SEO, none of Scotts other strategies applied yet is at 316,692 on Alexa…

IS YOUR LIGHT BULB GOING OFF YET FOLKS?

My challenge to you is get your filing in order on your hard drive, then think deeply about what you have done and apply the above to your industry

It's not hard to imagine total market domination in one year based on all of these things…
